About Priscilla
Priscilla Losey, Owner – Events à la mode
Born in Northern California, Priscilla Losey and her two sisters grew up in Chicago, Illinois until their father’s job took the family back to the West Coast. Thrust into a whole new social setting at the age of 12, Priscilla found herself surrounded by new classmates who had grown up together. By necessity, the shy seventh-grader learned to come out of her shell and make new friends, discovering a knack for bringing people together in the process.
It began with simple activities like ice skating, which Priscilla organized with friends while enlisting parents who could drive them to the skating rink. Then in high school, she was elected to the leadership council of her church youth group. Here, her talents began to blossom as Priscilla coordinated events, banquets, fundraisers and holiday performances for the youth group, honing a skill for finding creative ways to make a big splash with a very limited budget.
As an undergrad at Concordia University in Irvine, Priscilla volunteered for the New Student Orientation team with whom she helped plan all the orientation week activities. In the meantime, she earned extra money for school by working in the office of Student Services, where Priscilla gained a behind-the-scenes look at student leadership groups and on-campus clubs, organizations and activities. This would lead to a job in the admissions office upon graduation and later, more significantly, the role as director of student life.
In this capacity, Priscilla Losey advised and mentored student leaders while organizing campus wide activities and new student orientation. These experiences provided Priscilla the opportunity to work with top vendors, developing relationships with venues, entertainers, caterers, florists, DJs and rental companies throughout Southern California.
Armed with an impressive wealth of know-how and a rolodex of fantastic industry contacts after five years, Priscilla finally left to pursue her own event planning business in 2007, and Events à la mode was born. Since then, she has helped clients and friends celebrate important milestones in unique and unforgettable ways, from weddings to a baby’s first birthday to business functions, and everything in between. Through word of mouth, Events à la mode is rapidly becoming one of the most sought-after event planning services in Southern California.
